What is a bearing steel bearing? How is its performance?

Bearing steel is the raw material for traditional bearings. According to the raw materials, bearings can be divided into bearing steel bearings and stainless steel plate bearings, as well as some less-used aluminum alloy profile bearings. Bearing steel has very strict composition regulations, so the organic chemical characteristics of bearing steel bearings are very stable, and there will be no big difference in mass production. Today, let's introduce to you what is bearing steel bearing and other properties!

1. What is bearing steel bearing

In simple terms, the steel used for bearings is called bearing steel. Bearing steel is also known as high carbon manganese steel, the carbon content Wc is about 1%, and the magnesium content Wcr is 0.5%-1.65%. The bearing steel is divided into six types: high carbon chromium bearing steel, chromium-free bearing steel, nitrided bearing steel, stainless steel bearing steel, medium and high temperature bearing steel and antimagnetic bearing steel.

Bearing steel is used to manufacture steel balls, worm shafts and bearing throw rings. Bearing steel has high uniform hardness and wear resistance and high elastic limit. Bearing steel is very strict in terms of composition uniformity, non-metallic material impurity composition and distribution, and cementite distribution. It is one of the most stringent steel grades in all steel manufacturing.

Second, the performance requirements of bearing steel

In order to achieve the above requirements on the bearing capacity of the movable bearing, the following basic performance requirements are clearly put forward for the bearing steel raw materials:

1. High touch fatigue limit;

2. After the heat treatment process, it should have high hardness or can reach the hardness specified by the bearing application performance;

3. High wear resistance and low friction resistance;

4. High ductility limit;

5. Excellent fracture toughness and impact toughness;

6. Excellent specification reliability;

7. Excellent anti-rust treatment performance;

8. Excellent cold and heat treatment performance.
