Bearing installation directly affects accuracy, life and performance. Therefore, the design and assembly department must fully study the bearing installation and carry out the following operating standards:
(1) Clean the bearing and its related parts;
(2) Check the size and finish of the relevant parts;
(3) Installation (just before unpacking the bearing);
(4) Inspection after bearing installation;
(5) Supply lubricant.
General grease lubrication, no need to clean, directly add grease. Oil is lubricating and usually does not require cleaning. However, bearings used in instrumentation or high-speed applications should be cleaned with clean oil to remove the rust inhibitor applied to the bearings. Bearings with rust inhibitor removed are prone to rust and cannot be left alone. In addition, greased bearings can be used without cleaning. The installation method of the bearing varies depending on the bearing structure, fit and other conditions. Generally, the inner ring needs an interference fit due to most of the shaft rotation. Bearings are usually pressed in with a press or often shrink-fit.
